MANILA, Philippines – Organizations of senior citizens in the Philippines in a joint resolution have manifested their appreciation to Robinsons Land Corporation for its Tribute to Seniors weekly affair in Robinsons malls every Sunday. Dubbed Robinsons Sunday Funday — A Tribute to Seniors, the afternoon program will feature dancing, singing, parlor games, snacks and door prizes. Guest celebrities are invited to the 3 p.m. extravaganza.
“This laudable and noble gesture of Robinsons management shows the Gokongwei family’s admirable recognition of and love for this venerable sector of society,” said former senator and project’s original proponent Eddie Ilarde. “The eight million older people of our country salute Robinsons malls for being the first to show genuine love and respect for our greying population,” he added.
Signatories to the resolution, led by Golden Eagles Society International, Inc., intimated that they will send a copy of the resolution to Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Mar Roxas for him to know the needs and suggestions of the senior citizens. The government agency tasked to oversee the Office of Senion Citizens Affairs is DILG.
Robinsons Sunday Funday will be launched on Sept. 9 at the Robinsons Galleria, EDSA cor. Ortigas Ave., Quezon City. Admission is free.
