Smart supports 1st Cine-Phone filmfest

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s first Cine-Phone Film Festival, organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) as a category under the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), and supported by Smart, is now accepting entries.

The film festival is a competition among high school and college students who can make three minute-long movies that are shot using cellphones. The movies must adhere to the theme of Restoring Road Courtesy Among Motorists and Pedestrians and should depict values such as courtesy, discipline and respect.

“With the competition, we hope to encourage the youth to highlight the values of discipline and courtesy through a medium they know well,” said MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino.
