I-Witness docufest goes to Davao City

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - After the successful kick-off in Cebu and following the well-attended screening in Iloilo last month, GMA 7’s I-Witness gears up for the third leg of its docufest regional tour today in Davao City.

Together with documentarists Howie Severino, Kara David, Jay Taruc and Sandra Aguinaldo, watch one riveting docu after another starting 12 noon at Gaisano Mall Cinema 5.

The first set of documentaries include David’s Gintong Putik, Aguinaldo’s Batch 2012, Severino’s Saplot and Taruc’s Lapnos. The screening will be followed by an open forum. Admisson is free.

Enjoy the award-winning documentaries in the second set starting at 3 p.m. with David’s Ambulansyang de Paa, Aguinaldo’s Iskul Ko No. 1, Taruc’s Batang Kalabaw and Severino’s Huling Hala Bira. The set will be followed by another open forum and a special I-Witness DVD signing session.

Severino, who is also GMA News Online’s editor-in-chief and VP for Multimedia Journalism, looks forward to the docufest’s Davao leg. “I’m excited about going to Davao, one of my favorite cities in the Philippines, because I have been going there for coverage since the ’80s and seen how it has changed, mostly for the better,” says Severino.
