DMC Phils. Champs reunite for special show

MANILA, Philippines - In almost 20 years, DMC Philippines has produced some of the country’s top music spinners and turntablists. This month, in celebration two decades of the best party music, DMC Philippines brings back the best DJs in an event billed The First DMC Reunion of Champs.

DJ Mod, DJ Ouch, DJ Sonny, DJ Coki, DJ Sir Scratch, DJ Jam Masta, Radikal MK and Supreme Fist will be featured in special shows at the CandyshopSuperclub in Quezon City all weekends of the month.

All are winners of DMC’s local search for representatives to the DJ World Championships in London. All DMC DJs are turntablist. Turntablism is a brand-new music artistry which has turned the record player into a virtual musical instrument creating tracks into cool, short medleys as a production format.

Also joining them for the series of shows will be 2012 winner DJ Gilbert Semilliano who will fly to the UK and represent the Philippines in the international finals to be held on Sept. 27 and 28 at the HMV Forum in London.

Disco Mix Club (DMC) is a prestigious international organization of discjockeys, radio, discotheques, mobile groups, composers and remixers including music enthusiasts. Originated and formed in the UK with head offices located in London, Slough and New York City, it is now present in almost 48 countries worldwide.

The shows are presented by DMC Philippines and CandyshopSuperclub and in cooperation with FUBU International, Tiger Beer, Beats by Dr. Dre, Eleksis Marketing Corp., Mojitos and AOC. Media partners are UNTV, Wave 89.1, RX 93.1, Love Radio 90.7, YES 101fm, Easy Rock 96.3, PTV 4, Penthouse Party and The Manila Times.

Shows are scheduled tonight with DJs Coki and Jam Masta; on Aug. 18 (DJs Gilbert and Sir Scratch); and Aug. 25 (DJs Mod, Ouch, Sonny, Sir Scratch, Coki, Kid, Jam Masta, Radikal MK and Supreme Fist).

Entrance fee is P150 consumable, inclusive of one drink.
