New moves, killer beats in Step Up: Revolution

The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines -  Kathryn McCormick, Ryan Guzman and Adam Sevani star in the fourth installment of the street dance franchise Step Up Revolution.

Thanks to the success of TV dance shows Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Best Dance Crew (ABDC) and various successful dance-focused movies as dance revolution is back in the next installment of the worldwide smash Step Up franchise, which sets the dancing against the vibrant backdrop of Miami.

Emily, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer, but soon falls in love with Sean, a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge and flash mob-style. The crew, called the MOB, strives to win a contest for a major sponsorship opportunity, but soon Emily’s father threatens to develop the MOB’s historic neighborhood and displaces thousands of people. Emily must band together with Sean and the MOB to turn their performance into protest mobs, and risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause.

This time the sequel shows off some cool new moves and a bunch of killer beats. As expected, there’s a romance tied to the movie’s lead dancer and plenty of drama as teams battle for the right to be called the ultimate dance champion.

Step Up: Revolution opens Aug. 1 in theaters 1 and will also be shown in crisp 3D format. Directed by Scott Speer, it is expected to be another blockbuster hit from the producers of the Twilight saga series — Summit entertainment. Featuring the latest hit song Goin’ In by J.lo featuring Florida, Hands Up in the Air by Timbaland, International Love by Pitbul feat. Chris Brown and Live my Life by Far East Movement feat. Justin Bieber.
