Lovingly hand-woven fabrics from Ilocos

The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines - Amidst a drizzle that set a romantic mood around Dr. Joven Cuanang’s Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo City last Sunday afternoon, invited guests were busy going over beautifully and lovingly hand-woven fabrics (table pieces, scarves, bags, etc.) by an Ilocano artist. The items are for sale at affordable prices, no wonder the shelves were nearly rendered empty as guests moved around during cocktails.

The exhibit/sale will go on for three weekends, according to Dr. Joven who has as Irene Marcos-Araneta as partner in the project (they are shown in photo).

If it wasn’t drizzling, Dr. Joven would have loved to give his well-heeled guests a quick tour of the sprawling Pinto Art Museum, complete with a chapel, nestled in the highest point of Antipolo City with a sweeping view of Metro Manila.
