Court junks case vs. Jose

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The San Juan City Prosecutor’s office recently dismissed the complaint filed against comedian-TV host Ariel “Jose” P. Manalo by his wife for alleged violation of Republic Act. No. 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children due to lack of probable cause.

It will be recalled that Jose’s wife, Anna Lyn Manalo, filed the complaint months ago. After a series of exchange of affidavits, the investigating fiscal found that Anna Lyn’s allegations were not physical, mental or sexual in nature to constitute violation of RA. No. 9262.

The investigating fiscal, based on evidence presented and arguments posed by Jose’s lawyer Richard Leonard Cruz, ruled in favor of Jose, saying he did not abandon his family.

The investigating fiscal added that Anna Lyn’s camp also failed to prove that Jose is living in with another woman.

For this reason, the investigating fiscal said Anna Lyn’s allegations were nothing but baseless accusations.
