MANILA, Philippines - GMA News TV releases its first-ever DVD, featuring five of its best documentaries, in major video outlets in Metro Manila.
The DVD titled The Best of GMA News TV Documentaries includes the stories that made GMA News TV the biggest winner among all Philippine TV networks at the prestigious 2012 New York Festivals.
Yaman sa Basura (Child Urban Miners) features the children who engage in hazardous urban mining at the Smokey Mountain. Bente Dos (Twenty-two) follows the struggles of a mother, who has given birth 22 times, in raising a very large family. Each of these documentaries by Front Row won a Silver World Medal at the NYF.
Reel Time’s Lusong (Live to Dive), a story on children who dive in the dark water of the Manila Bay in search of trash to sell, was awarded a Finalist Certificate at the NYF. Another Reel Time documentary, Bingit (Near Death) explores the issue of maternal and infant mortality in remote mountain villages in the country.
TBYC (Think Before You Click), hosted by Howie Severino, Kara David, Jun Veneracion, Iza Calzado and Elmo Magalona, discusses the power of social media and the need for its responsible use.
The Best of GMA News TV Documentaries is now available in Astroplus/ Astrovision, Odyssey, SM Music and Video and Landmark outlets in Metro Manila.
