Amy quits Face to Face, Gelli takes over

MANILA, Philippines - Breaking News: Quoting Amy Perez’s favorite words (referring to a bedroom activity) in the popular TV5 Barangay-on-the-air show Face To Face, an avid follower said, “Nag-something-something si Tsang Amy at ang kanyang love na si Carlo Castillo (a TV5 reporter), kaya hayan, bigla siyang mag-maternity leave. She’s two months pregnant.”

As followers (including Jojo Gabinete and this columnist) know how stressful hosting the show can be, so Amy decided to quit, only temporarily (hopefully) and is expected to return middle of next year.

Pinch-hitting for Amy is Gelli de Belen. The big question is: Will, rather can, Gelli measure up to Amy’s cool style of mediating between usually violent protagonists? An Herculean task for Gelli, for sure.

Amy will formally turn over the F2F hosting job to Gelli at a lunch presscon today.
