MANILA, Philippines - If there is one cultural event that can truly be regarded as “more fun,” it can be no other than Hudyaka sa ZaNorte, the provincial festival of Zamboanga del Norte which celebrates its founding day.
Hudyaka, a Visayan word which means merry-making, was introduced in 2005 by Gov. Rolando Yebes to promote the province as a top tourist spot and investment hub in the Zamboanga Peninsula region.
And more fun it is with the country’s hottest entertainers joining the southern getaway’s festivities.
ZaNorte officially turned 60 last June 6, with commemorative programs, sports events and capped by the Ginang ZaNorte with Willie Nep as special guest.
Enrique Gil will serenade local beauties in tonight’s coronation of Miss Zanorte.
Tomorrow, June 9, Hudyaka draws to a close with the grand street dance parade featuring local festivals of the 25 municipalities and two cities. K Brosas and Rocksteddy will rock the night away in a concert. Activities converge in the provincial capital of Dipolog.
