Why Barbie Forteza stands out

MANILA, Philippines - Barbie Forteza (photo) is saddened by the coming end of Tween Hearts noted for pushing her career up along other Kapuso tweens. But a new door has opened for the 14-year-old actress as she stars in Tweets for My Sweet.

In the show, Barbie is Adele and billed as co-lead with Marian Rivera. This time around, GMA wants to try something new and pairs Barbie with Elmo Magalona as Dino.

In an interview, Barbie points out that there’s less adjustment working with Elmo because they already worked together for Pilyang Kerubin and Tween Academy. “Wala namang problema sa akin kasi ilang beses ko na rin nakatrabaho si Elmo,” she says with a smile.

A GMA Artist Center talent, Barbie stands out as one of the most promising stars of her generation. She is not new to accomplishing significant assignments on TV, in film and advertising. She has scored a number of major roles which served as a seal of approval on how good she is as an actress.

Among the Tween stars, Barbie is compared to Bea, probably because the two have the most number of projects. Barbie is tagged as the wholesome dramatic star with the face of an angel while Bea is labeled as the tough chick with the pretty face. In spite of the comparison and competition, the young stars remain good friends.
