Lorna vs Jaclyn in battle for acting supremacy

MANILA, Philippines - Brace yourselves for the highly-charged confrontation scenes between Lorna Tolentino and Jaclyn Jose in this year’s top-rating classic drama series Valiente on TV5.           

Jaclyn has been lording it over the acting department in the series as the vicious and ruthless Donya Trining Braganza for months but now, she finally meets her match in Lorna, who joins the cast as the series goes on an extended run until June 29. 

Lorna plays Mila Regalado-Arden, the overly strict COO and acquisitions director of Crimson Estates and Don Luis Regalado’s (Tirso Cruz III’s) younger sister.

In her first taping day, Lorna was immediately made to take on a big scene where televiewers will feel her hatred for Gardo Valiente/Nicolas Vallejo.

But beneath her character’s sharp words and cold-heartedness lies a deep sense of loneliness brought about by her struggle to find her long-lost child and her desire to make up for her shortcomings as a mother.

Lorna was also made to dabble in an intense slapping scene with Jaclyn by direk Joel Lamangan, which will be seen in the TV plug of Valiente.

“I wanted to turn down the request of direk Joel. Puwede naman kasing dayain. Pero wala akong magawa. Sinampal ko si Jaclyn,” Lorna recalls.

Naturally, Jaclyn’s character fights back.

The confrontation scene between the two seasoned actresses will be aired in a Valiente episode next week. 

Televiewers have been glued to the classic drama series’ new version since its pilot episode for good reason. Aside from being glossy, it boasts of superb acting from the veteran cast members down to the young actors. Valiente also stars Michael de Mesa, Gina Alajar, Oyo Sotto, JC de Vera, Nadine Samonte, Nina Jose and John Regala. 

Even fans of the original Valiente, produced by TAPE, Inc., are sold to the series’ revolutionary twists and turns.

The drama took on greater heights not only through Lorna and Jaclyn’s pumped-up encounters and showdowns, but also through its all-consuming tale of love and revenge in the succeeding episodes.
