Piolo, Angelica together for 1st time

MANILA, Philippines - The team-up of Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban is long overdue. Better late than never.

Finally, in Every Breath You Take, Star Cinema’s next offering, the dream of the two stars’ fans has come true in a romance-drama not just for Valentine’s Day, setting of the story, but for any season.

Directed by Mae Czarina Cruz, Every Breath You Take is the story of two people from opposite sides of the romantic pole.

Angelica plays Majoy, a virginal romantic who has long been waiting for her true love to come. Piolo plays Leo, a career-driven playboy whose last priority is getting seriously involved.

Then, they meet by chance on Valentine’s Day and realize that they fill the void in each other’s life. But unknown to them, as they get closer, danger lurks. People are determined to ruin their blossoming romance. Will they survive the negative forces and live happily ever after?

Direk Mae has made the right choice in Piolo and Angelica.

“They fit the characters Majoy and Leo to a T,” she said.

Like Piolo, Angelica doesn’t stick to just one leading man. She has worked with several of them, including Aga Muhlach and her real-life boyfriend Derek Ramsay. She can be paired with any actor and come out credible in her performance.

Since playing leading man to Janna Victoria in Lagarista several years ago, Piolo has successfully teamed up with other actresses, including Judy Ann Santos (in Kahit Isang Saglit, among them), Donita Rose (Nine Mornings), Regine Velasquez and KC Concepcion.

Every Breath You Take opens in more than 100 theaters nationwide on May 16.
