Lenten shows on ABS-CBN

MANILA, Philippines - Reflect and be inspired this Holy Week as ABS-CBN airs heartwarming specials, dramas, Star Cinema movies and best documentaries beginning on Maundy Thursday (April 5) until Good Friday (April 6) at 12 noon.

Begin the solemn journey by catching Mga Kuwento Sa Lupang Pangako, which was produced by Jesuit Communications Foundation. The special features documentaries Sa Mga Yapak Ni Hesus and Ang Makabagong Disipulo that were both shot in Israel.

Sa Mga Yapak Ni Hesus follows a group of Filipino pilgrims who come to experience the Holy Land, with the help of the pilgrimage master Manila Archbishop Chito Tagle. Instead of dwelling on the passion and death of a vanquished Christ, Arch. Tagle leads them to a deeper understanding of the triumph and joy of the risen Christ and the impact on their futures. The special will be narrated by broadcast journalist Cheche Lazaro.

Ang Makabagong Disipulo is an upclose and personal look at newly-installed Manila Archbishop Antonio “Chito” Tagle. The documentary, hosted by Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo, takes a deeper look into this remarkable man on a mission. It begins as he is about to make his first pilgrimage to the Holy Land a few weeks before his installation. It follows him on this bittersweet journey, fraught with apprehensions and anxieties, and watches how he comes to Jesus in the very land that He was born in and died.
