Patrol ng Pilipino on plight of young rape victims

MANILA, Philippines - One child is raped every two hours and 30 minutes, according to data from the Philippine National Police Women and Child Protection Center, while the youngest victim of rape in the country is a three-year-old kid, based from Center for Women’s Resources’ 2012 records.

Tomorrow, in Patrol ng Pilipino, Sol Aragones will give a face to the alarming numbers by sharing the stories of rape victims and their parents whose lives have changed forever due to fear, trauma and even death of the victim.

According to CWR, violence against women and children continues despite the 37 laws, executive orders and resolutions seeking to protect their rights.

Join Sol as she calls for justice for the victims this Women’s Month and tackles the “seven deadly sins against women,” which includes sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace.

Meanwhile, Ron Gagalac will report the events in the recent transport caravan mounted by public transportation drivers across the country to clamor for the scrapping of the 12 percent VAT on gasoline prices and the Oil Deregulation Law. Ron will get the side of the government to know if it intends to amend the law or give long-term solutions to the problem.

Patrol ng Pilipino airs after Bandila on ABS-CBN.
