The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The 2009 top-rating Korean drama series Iris premieres tonight on GMA 7 after I-Witness. Topbilled by Korea’s biggest stars, Iris is dubbed as “the most expensive Korean drama series,” with production cost reaching more than 20 billion won or close to a whopping P800M. It also reaped various awards including acting honors at the 2009 KBS Drama Acting Awards.

Iris stars Lee Byun Hun (photo, Beautiful Days, G.I. Joe), Kim Tae Hee (Love Story in Harvard, Stairway to Heaven) and Jung Joon Ho (Last Scandal).

The series revolves around two comrades, who are members of the elite Special Forces of the South Korean army. The two are recruited separately by a gorgeous female agent. Unwittingly, the two fall in love with her.
