Reported Funfare’s “other beauty expert” Celso de Guzman Caparas who covered the event, “Conspicuously absent was candidate No. 11, Marie Virgenia Cecilie Molo Peter, 21 of Kalibo, Aklan. Dasalla joined the other beauties for the first time; she replaced Mika Maxine Medina who was disqualified due to conflict of interest.”
Nine aspirants wowed the audience: Hidalgo did belly-dancing, Schmitz danced the salsa with a partner, Orbina rendered Moonstar88’s Torete, Dimaranan belted out Alicia Keys’ A Woman’s Worth, Howell played the piano, Baroa interpreted Ugoy ng Duyan and Anak through dance, Delos Reyes performed a theatrical act, Arcenas sang a jazz number and Forbes did the Shirley Basey’s hit Big Spender.
Asked Celso, “Will this year’s Miss Talent winner follow in the footsteps of those who went on to be crowned Bb. Pilipinas like Alice Dixson (1986, International), Tisha Silang, (1998, Universe–resigned), Nina Ricci Alagao (2000, Universe), Maricarl Tolosa (2001, International), Krista Kleiner (2010, International; also Miss Talent in Miss International 2010) and Shamcey Supsup (2011, Universe)?”
