MANILA, Philippines - Charlie Green is back. The young singing sensation from Britain’s Got Talent is in town to launch his latest international album Rainbow under Viva Records. He is now 14 years old and eager to share his latest CD with his Filipino fans.
The young Filipino-British singer recorded the CD in Italy and the US. Produced by Christian de Walden of Hollywood, Rainbow is set for release in Europe, South America, the United Kingdom, Japan, China and the Philippines.
The CD spotlights a versatile Charlie singing songs in Tagalog, Nonoy Zuñiga’s Kumusta Ka; in Japanese, Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto; Spanish, Somos Novios (It’s Impossible) a duet with the 16-year-old Danna Paola, the famous Mexican star of music and telenovelas.
The album includes old favorites and new compositions. The new songs are Rainbow; Zoom, Zoom, Zoom; Just My Type; Chica Ya Ya, Infatuation and the light rock tune Liquid Ice. This is the first single release in China and Japan. There are also the oldies Don’t Stop by Fleetwood Mac; Daydream Believer by The Monkees; and Reach Out (I’ll Be There) by The Four Tops.
Charlie launched his album with a special Valentine’s Day show at Eastwood City last Tuesday. He is also doing TV shows and visiting various radio stations. Charlie performed Daydream Believer at the Araneta Coliseum where he was a guest in the Sharon Cuneta and Martin Nievera show, Once In A Lifetime.
Rainbow is Charlie’s second album for Viva. His first, Charlie Green, was also released in China and Japan where it was warmly received by fans. He is now getting ready to visit the various places where Rainbow will be released.
Charlie lives in England with his parents where he is on the Oxford Home Schooling program. He just turned 15 last Feb. 16.
