Bola opens in cinemas today

MANILA, Philippines - The indie film Bola opens in selected Metro Manila cinemas today.

Bola takes a close look at some behind-the-scenes of basketball games at a barangay level and makes a tongue-in-cheek take on corruption, gay manipulation, deception and revenge.  

Bola stars newcomer Kenneth Salva (photo) as Lester, who plays the star player of a community basketball team; Arnel Ignacio (Pandy), a local couturier-turned-team manager who becomes obsessed with Lester; and Sofia Valdez (Angel), who plays Lester’s childhood sweetheart. Other cast members are Jacob Miller, Dustin Jose, Simon Ibarra, Suzette Ranillo and Geeca Topacio.

Mowelfund film graduate and former Mel & Joey segment producer/director Lem Lorca directs Bola from the screenplay of multi-awarded writer Jerry Gracio. Producers are R and B Entertainment and Amazing Production.
