MANILA, Philippines - GMA Artist Center talent Vaness del Moral is trying something new — film production.
It started when her friend, stage director and scriptwriter Joey Paras, handed her a script for a possible independent horror film. He was looking for someone who will help mount the film. Vaness read the script, liked it and became its producer and assistant director.
It’s a new world for Vaness since she’s always been in front of the cameras since she emerged as a StarStruck Season 3 Avenger some years back. After three straight days and two separate shooting days, Hantu was born. It’s a story of a father and daughter who head to a resort and discover mysterious happenings. Vaness and the production staff conducted a special screening for the movie so as to find out the reactions of the viewers, and she’s more than happy with the results so far.
“I’m very happy with the outcome of the film especially because I had the chance to be part of the production team as an assistant director. Talagang hands-on ka and the feelings is fulfilling,” said Vaness.
She added that they’re planning to market the film and have it shown in selected cinemas by the end of this month.
