Katrina Ponce-Enrile spearheads fund-raiser for Sendong victims

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Many want to help, but it takes one to lead. JAKA Corporation president and CEO Katrina Ponce-Enrile recently organized a fund-raising dinner for the benefit of the thousands of Filipinos victimized by Typhoon Sendong. The fund-raising dinner was held at Katrina’s restaurant called Petra and Pilar at JAKA Center in Makati.

Seeing that many of our countrymen were still in need despite the outpour of donations, Katrina decided to organize a fund-raising dinner of her own to further increase the help given to the victims in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City. It was able to gather some of her friends and acquaintances who were willing to help and share any amount or anything they can for the typhoon victims.

Most of Katrina’s loyal friends and business associates attended the event and donated checks and cash. Some of her most prominent guests included Sen. Koko Pimentel and Sen. Dick Gordon, who is also Red Cross Philippines chairman.

Katrina’s family and relatives were also present on the dinner to show their support to Katrina and their sympathy to the victims as well. The funds gathered will go straight to the victims in CDO and Iligan.

Prior to the fund-raiser, Katrina has already been active in sending donations to the victims. She has directly sent various initial donations earlier to the victims in Lanao del Sur and Iligan.

Katrina vows to continue helping in every way she can until the lives of the typhoon victims return to normal. With Katrina’s initiative, more funds were added to provide the victims with more food, water and clothing.
