My own grown-up Christmas list (wish ko lang!)

I have a few favorite Christmas songs. One of them is Michael Bublé’s Grown-Up Christmas List because of its ever-timely message.

Here’s the part of the song that I love so much:

I’m not a child

But my heart still can dream.

So here’s my lifelong wish,

My grown-up Christmas list

Not for myself

But for a world in need.

No more lives torn apart,

That wars would never start,

And time would heal all hurts.

Every man would have a friend,

That right would always win,

And love would never end

This is my grown-up Christmas list.

What is this illusion called

The innocence of youth?

Maybe only in their blind belief

Can we ever find the truth…

If all Bublé’s wishes came true, I’m sure there’d be lasting peace on earth and real goodwill to men.

Peace on earth and peace in showbiz which this year has been torn apart by unimaginable tragedies and controversies.

Here’s my own grown-up Christmas list for the stars, regardless of whether they’d been naughty or nice:

•  Kris Aquino — A man with the money of MVP, the looks of Piolo Pascual, the body of James Yap and the brains of Albert Einstein.

•  MTRCB Chief Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares (photo) — To go right on with what she has started — beautifully! She’s perfect for the job. Right on!

•  Susan Roces — Another soap as engrossing as Ang Babaeng Hampaslupa.

•  Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna — A truth capsule that will make them tell all…so what if the age gap between them is gaping? All is fair — and equal — in love and somewhere else.

•  Rhian Ramos (photo) — A boyfriend who doesn’t kiss and tell, and who is computer-illiterate.

•  Sarah Geronimo and Ruffa Gutierrez — A boyfriend who’s not a double-timer and who has, uhm, balls.

•  KC Concepcion — A boyfriend in the strictest sense of the word…a boy friend.

•  Piolo Pascual — A special friend sworn to secrecy (you know, “don’t ask, don’t tell”…and no dramatic revelation on national television).

•  Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres — Another “joint venture.” Their daughter Juliana, is 11 and needs a brother or a sister.

•  John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao (photo) — A chain to bind them and lock their hearts for better or for worse…

•   Dr. Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho — A solemn march down the aisle to the tune of You’ll Never Walk Alone, with the pre-nup properly documented.

•  Korina Sanchez and Sec. Mar Roxas — A long-delayed stork’s visit.

•   Dolphy (photo) — A clean bill of health.

•  Iwa Moto (photo) — A vow never, never, never to resort to any self-destructive act again, kaya tuloy tinatawag siyang Hiwa Moto.

•   Lorna Tolentino and Boots Anson-Roa — A new partner in life. I guess their late beloved Rudy and Pete wouldn’t mind. Malamig ang mga gabi and a comforter may not be enough to warm you up.

•   Eugene Domingo — A Roman holiday. She’s been working soooo hard. Remember, all work and no play (and no lover) makes Jane a dull girl.

•   Manny Pacquiao and Jinkee Pacquiao (photo) — Domestic bliss and the ability to turn a deaf ear to tsismis about infidelity.
