Shooting the stars with Xander Angeles

MANILA, Philippines - Xander Angeles leads the path to one of the biggest projects of GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) to date. Through his eye for beauty and passion for excellence, Xander finds the way to the fulfilment of Profiles Magazine, the very first magazine featuring GMAAC talents.

With the help of his Edge of Light team, Xander captured the best angles of the Kapuso artists. Profiles Magazine offers nine collectible covers which include Iza Calzado, Rhian Ramos, Tim Yap, Solenn Heussaff, Lovi Poe, Jackie Rice, Gwen Zamora, Sarah Lahbati, Kris Bernal, Aljur Abrenica, Bela Padilla, Steph Henares, Gino dela Peña, Luane Dy and Jace Flores.

GMAAC’s Black Book, a glam catalogue also featuring its talents, had Doc Marlon Pecjo leading the production of those beautiful faces that were shown in the book. His team, with the overwhelming help of stylists, designers, makeup artists and staff of GMAAC, worked hand-in-hand for this endeavour. Now it’s Xander’s turn to leave us in awe with Profiles Magazine.

A Fine Arts graduate at the University of Santo Tomas, Xander started his career in photography right after graduation. He has done many projects for magazines and advertising campaigns which involved being the exclusive photographer for FHM magazine’s 2002-2006 calendars, principal photographer of ad campaigns for Penshoppe, Zed, Uniliver Pond’s and many others.   

Xander’s ability and creativity did not only garner him popularity in the Philippines but he is also known abroad. In 2004, he was selected by the American Photo Magazine as its Featured Grand Winner for The Glamour and Beauty category. In 2005, Digital Photographer Ukraine ran a 13-page article about him and his works.

He sets himself apart from others as a selfless photographer that respects and asks for the input of others to create a better looking image that not only involves the vision of the photographer but of other people as well.
