TV5 shows nominated in Asian TV Awards

-

MANILA, Philippines - TV5’s Talentadong Pinoy, Lokomoko and Star Confessions will compete in this year’s Asian TV Awards (ATA 2011). Based on the list of nominees from Asia’s most prestigious TV award-giving body, the Kapatid Network got the most number of nominations among Filipino TV networks that submitted entries in Asian TV Awards’ 16th Annual Presentation.

Three-time KBP Golden Dove Awards winner Talentadong Pinoy is nominated in the Best General Entertainment category along with programs from Singapore, Japan, Thailand and another one from the Philippines.

Lokomoko, meanwhile, represents the Philippines in the Best Comedy Programme category — competing with other shows from Singapore, India and Malaysia.

Not only did it surpass the number of entries in previous years (close to 1,040 submissions across different categories), this year’s ATA 2011 introduces three new award categories, including Best Theme Song wherein TV5’s Star Confessions theme song Ito ang Buhay Ko (This is My Life) clinched a nomination. Titled Ito ang Buhay Ko, the theme song is performed by Boy Christopher Ramos.

TV5 has been reaping recognition this awards season, bagging several awards and nominations at the recently-concluded 20th Golden Dove Awards by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Catholic Mass Media Awards and in the upcoming ENPRESS Golden Screen TV Awards and PMPC Star Awards for TV.

The announcement of winners in Asian TV Awards 2011 happens in Singapore on Dec. 8.
