MANILA, Philippines - Manila Broadcasting Company’s (MBC) FM radio networks ranked first, second and third in the Personal Radio Listening Survey conducted by Applied Marketing Research Inc. for the period of Sept. 9 to 19 in results released to the public recently.
In one–on-one interviews of the recall survey, 90.7 Love Radio, 101.1 Yes FM and 96.3 Easy Rock posted an unprecedented sweep of the Top 3 spots for the FM band. 18.2 percent of the audience share was taken by Love Radio, with Yes FM posting 9.9 percent and 6.5 percent for Easy Rock.
For the past eight years, Love Radio has also consistently ranked No. 1 in Nielsen Media Radio Audience Measurement surveys for Metro and Mega Manila, as validated by the Radio Research Council. It has held the same position in key cities in Isabela, La Union, Ilocos Norte, Quezon Province, Benguet, Kalibo and Palawan — making it solidly No. 1 nationwide.
Teaming up with sister station Yes FM, the Love Radio jocks have fueled their efforts to remain on top via their Radyo-Dalawa Lang Yan concert blitz now doing the rounds of Metro Manila and the provinces. Easy Rock, whose smooth and light playlist is favored by audiences in the A-B-C markets, has proven that listenership among students and professionals is a strong market indicator.
On the AM band, DZRH continued to secure the No. 2 ranking, grabbing 4.1 percent of the audience share, thanks to its faithful listeners. DZRH is also accessible nationwide, even in the most remote parts of the country, as it links to Radyo Natin provincial stations.
With the stations’ unmitigated success on the rating charts, MBC officials continue to take pride in the networks’ quality programming even as they adhere to the highest standards of broadcast excellence.
