K Brosas allows herself to let go
People look “bigger” in front of the camera than they are in person, but comedienne K Brosas is allowing herself to “let go” when it comes to eating this holiday season because “you won’t have fun if you don’t.”
“Don’t be too strict or hindi ka magiging masaya. And don’t be too hard on yourself if you put on a few pounds. You can always shed those in January kapag ubos na ang pera,” she said, laughing.
K practices what she preaches. Though besieged with offers to host and perform in various parties and events, she has blocked off some days in her schedule in order to have a vacation in Singapore with her daughter, Crystal. It will be her daughter’s first time abroad and K simply must be there with her, she said.
“Nakaplano na kung saan-saan kami pupunta. But more than what we’ll see there together, yung bonding time namin ang pinakamahalaga sa trip na ito. Yon ang priceless and what I’ll remember most of all,” K said.
The comedienne looks back on a year full of blessing. Calling it her “world tour” year, she has been done shows all over the globe in the last 11 months: Abu Dhabi, Canada, Australia, US… name it, she’s been there. She’ll even have one in Japan end of this month as well as another tour in Canada early 2012.
Then, of course, her fans here don’t miss her that much lately with Maria La Del Barrio invading homes every night. Playing Carlota on the show, K said the series has been extended up to 2012 thanks to great feedback and high ratings.
On the music front, K has a single out that can be downloaded from her website. It’s a remake of Tenten Munoz’s Kaba that’s produced for K by ace tunesmith-producer Vehnee Saturno. The comedienne said that unlike her novelty hits from past albums, she is “para lang si Beyoncé here…serious singing naman.”
Even though she has already achieved a lot in her career, K has not stopped dreaming. She still prays to have her own show on TV, to hold major concerts and even to become a top entrepreneur with the various businesses she has.
Does she pray for another chance at love?
“Ewan ko ba kay Santa Claus. I’ve been nice naman pero di yata talaga siya sumasagot sa mga letter senders,” joked K, whose previous romance was five years ago.
Despite being “loveless” for now, K said that Crystal more than makes up for it. The comedienne is very proud of her daughter, describing her as “the girl who has everything…she’s tall, morena, talented — tinodo na!”
Should Crystal enter showbiz, something which K leaves up to her to decide on, the comedian vows she won’t be a stage mom.
“I’m just going to guide her pero yung makialam at yung nandyan every minute of the day, no. Besides, I have my own career, too.”
So true.
