Helen Gamboa, singing and dancing queen of the ‘60s, appeared opposite Ronald Remy, Nagngangalit na Damdamin, produced by Larry Santiago Productions and written and directed by Jose Miranda Cruz.
Ronald was cast in several international films, including No Man is an Island, No Way Out, The Longest Hundred Miles, Bus to Bataan, Escape to Mindanao and Death is a Stranger. He produced and directed some 20 movies.
Helen later became a fine drama actress, directed by Tikoy Aguiluz in a Flor Contemplacion-inspired film, by Lino Brocka in Kailan Mahuhugasan ang Kasalanan, by Maning Borlaza in Oras-Oras, Araw-Araw. — RKC
