Celebrities race for Run United 3

-

MANILA, Philippines - An estimated 20,000 will participate in Run United 3 on Nov. 13 at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds. Among those who have registered for the run are celebrities like Venus Raj and Tessa Prieto.

“Run United just keeps on getting bigger and we are pleased with the response, support and feedback that we are getting from our partners, registration outlets and the runners themselves,” Alex Panlilio, head of Unilab ActiveHealth.

The Run United Series started with only 6,000 runners and the number has grown in each event. In fact, Run United 2 last Aug. 21 is considered as “the biggest race in terms of attendance so far.”

Run United is in line with Unilab ActiveHealth’s advocacy of promoting active lifestyle among Filipino families. On top of that, it is also for the benefit of Gawad Kalusugan and Hero Foundation.

There will be seven race categories namely: 500m, 3K, 5K, 10K, 15K, 21K and 32K. Participants will get a Finisher’s Kit, Race Analysis and discount coupons from Tobys, RUNNR & Planet Sports. 21K and 32K participants will also get a Finisher’s shirt and medal.

According to RunRio, Inc.’s Rio dela Cruz, the Run United Series is the most popular among the race events that his organization handles.

“Run United 3, the biggest in this year’s RunRio series of events, is a fitting finale to our trilogy,” said Dela Cruz. Run United 1 started off the trilogy in March this year.

RunRio Trilogy is a special set of three-race events scheduled within a year. The highlight is the third race which features the 32K category — almost a unique distance and is not typically included in usual race events.

Run United 3 will also feature the popular Unilab ActiveHealth Village which includes sprawling areas for active adults, active senior and active kids.

“Since we want the entire family to join in the active fun, the Unilab ActiveHealth Village is a staple feature in any Run United event. Toddlers and elders or all non-participating family members can avail of free product samples, free consultations from our physicians or join various activities,” said Panlilio.

The active adults section treats runners to free medical check-ups, massages, bone density and calcium screenings, memory games and the Active noon, Active ngayon fitness challenge.

Huge inflatable play pens, lounge area, activity booth and various games/activities are available to keep young runners busy at Active Kids zone.

After Run United 3, the Run United Regional Series will continue in Cagayan de Oro on Nov. 27; Baguio, Dec. 4; and Cebu, Dec. 18.
