MANILA, Philippines - DZMM Radyo Patrol Sais Trenta and DZMM TeleRadyo continue to fly high as they not only led the recent radio and TV ratings race, but also reaped 23 major awards from award-giving bodies.
Based on the latest Nielsen Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) survey, DZMM Radyo Patrol Sais Trenta topped all AM radio stations in Metro Manila across all time blocks in August when it hit a 43.10 percent average audience share, beating DZBB (26.40 percent) and DZRH (13.40 percent).
DZMM also clinched the top spot in Mega Manila in the same month with a 44.60 percent average audience share as opposed to DZBB’s 29.30 percent and DZRH’s 11.60 percent.
Meanwhile, DZMM TeleRadyo recorded its highest viewership since its 2007 launch, acquiring a 0.73 percent national rating in August based on data from Kantar Media.
DZMM programs also bagged awards from the recently held 33rd Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) and 20th Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) Golden Dove Awards.
DZMM brought home the Best AM Radio Station award in Metro Manila from KBP.
Noli de Castro was named Best Radio Newscaster, Usec. Zeny Maglaya as Best Radio Public Service Program Host, and Vic de Leon Lima as Best Radio Public Affairs Program Host.
Meanwhile, Winnie Cordero was recognized as Best Radio Magazine Program Host and Louie Tabing as Best Radio Science & Technology Program Journalist.
DZMM also took home top honors for its programs, namely Dos Por Dos for Best Radio Public Affairs Program; Radyo Patrol Balita Alas-Dose for Best Radio Newscast in Metro Manila; and Maalaala Mo Kaya sa DZMM for Best Radio Drama Program.
DZMM also won Todo-todo Walang Preno for Best Radio Magazine Program; Sports Talk for Best Radio Sports Program; Trabaho, Panalo for Best Radio Public Service Program; and Best Radio Station Promotional Material for Pinoy Pride 6: Sound Effects.
DZMM claimed top honors at the CMMA namely two Hall of Fame awards, three major awards, four special citations and a major award by DZMM TeleRadyo for the TV category.
Leading the winners’ pack were Radyo Patrol Balita Alas-Siyete and Maalaala Mo Kaya sa DZMM, which were inducted to the CMMA Hall of Fame as Best News Radio Program and Best Radio Drama, respectively. The said programs won in their respective categories for three years.
Dr. Love Radio Show was hailed Best Counseling Program, Tambalang Failon at Webb as Best News Commentary, and Radyo Patrol Balita Alas-Dose as Best Radio News Program.
Special citations were also given to Usapang Kapatid for Best Counseling Program; Dr. Love Music for Best Entertainment Program; and SikaPinoy for Best Business News or Business Feature.
For the TV category, DZMM Halalan 2010: Ang Bayan Naman of DZMM TeleRadyo won Best Special Event Coverage. A special citation was also given to Patrol ng Pilipino, which currently airs on the cable news channel’s Current Affairs block.
