Joyce Ching on a roll

MANILA, Philippines - Fresh from her starring role in the movie Tween Academy and well-reviewed supporting role in the hit teleserye Munting Heredera, the GMA Artists Center and Viva Artists Agency star, Joyce Ching, takes on her biggest challenge to date — as one of the two female leads on GMA 7’s new drama series Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin.

The drama is a remake of a hit original GMA series from 10 years ago. Joyce takes on the bida-kontrabida role originally played by Sunshine Dizon. And the teen star is at once elated, humbled, excited and daunted. “I’m so honored and grateful that GMA chose me for this very challenging role,” she says. “I’ll do my best para hindi sila ma-disappoint pati na ang viewers, lalo na ‘yung mga fans ng original.”

Joyce is one of the few teen actresses that can do justice to sweet, heroine characters as well as those with dark edges like her roles in Munting Heredera and Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin. She is gifted that way, plus she has had considerable experience from her earlier work. Joyce started her career as a member of the kiddie crew Bubble Gang Jr.

The afternoon drama also stars Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio and Kristoffer Martin.
