Photo exhibit marks Breast Cancer Month

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - “We are all breast cancer survivors,” said Melissa de Leon-Joseph (fourth from left), shown with (also from left) Dr. Mae Corvera, Joy Trinidad, Angie Laporte, Ces Revilla-Schultze, Melissa’s sister Toni Abad and Emilie Nauntofte.

Melissa is reminding the public, especially women, that October is Breast Cancer Month and it’s being marked with a photo exhibit that opened on Oct. 1 at the lobby of Asian Hospital (on display until end of this month).

“Cancer support here in Southern Manila is highlighted as Project Pink Group Inc.,” said Melissa. “The group is composed of cancer patients, their loved ones and volunteers. We continue our battle cry to ‘Conquer Cancer’.”

Other cancer conquerors include Maritoni Fernandez and Kata Alikpala of ICan Serve Foundation.

To continue with the October Breast Cancer Awareness drive, Project Pink Group will hold a fund-raising dinner at the Palms Country Club tomorrow, Oct. 15. The affair features Ralph’s Wines and Spirits, with a sumptuous cuisine prepared by (GM) chef Hans Rudolf Neukom. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m.

For more details on the cancer support group, call 788-1722 or visit www.projectpink.org.pg. or the Support Group Lounge at the lower ground floor of Asian Hospital.
