Funny, forgiving & fabulous
MANILA, Philippines - Giselle Sanchez makes you laugh with her wits. She catches your eye with her fabulous figure. She leaves you amazed at how busy and blessed her life has been.
For nearly two decades, Giselle has elicited laughter and admiration from fans, friends and even foes. The sexy and brainy comedienne isn’t stopping just yet.
Giselle admits that she has always wanted to make people happy. “You could just imagine the high I get whenever I perform for multitudes of OFWs abroad. When they laugh, I feel that I’m saving them from their loneliness being away from their families. So I still would love to do that probably until the day I die, make the bagong bayani laugh and forget their problems,” she shares.
Once a month from June to December, she goes around the Middle East, Asia and Europe to perform for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Twice or thrice a week, Giselle hosts corporate shows and performs for sales, promos and product launches. Every day, she writes her blog Gspot, wholesome po ito on pep.ph where she gets a fair share of one million hits a month from pep.ph’s 30 million hits. She then runs a full kilometer around the park or hits the gym on rainy days.
Who gets the best of Giselle is her family her husband, daughter and son. Giselle says, “I always live by this motto: Your family should always get the best of you and not what is left of you.”
When she wants to relax with her family, they fly to Bohol, where she opened a cottage resort in front of Panglao Beach. The budget-friendly resort is closed when Giselle and family are there because she wants the place all to herself, “So no resort guests when the boss is in the building,” she says.
Giselle knows that she needs to keep fit in order to meet the physical demands of her many roles. She wakes up to a mixture of raw vegetable juice alugbati, ampalaya, malunggay, celery, cucumber, carrot, and tomato with fresh orange and apple to counter the bitter taste (Giselle swears to promote the 10 indigenous vegetables in the Philippines so she tries to eat or drink at least three to five of them every day). She prays to de-stress, runs and works out, and avoids the three M’s “manok, mamoy and maka!” she says with her signature laugh, adding that sometimes, “the spirit is willing but the palate is weak.” It is no wonder she has kept her sexy body all these years.
Above all, Giselle is proud of her intellectual capacity, believing that “Men love picking brains.” She graduated a scholar at the Poveda Learning Center and graduated with honors and proceeded to major in Broadcasting at the University of the Philippines, where she graduated School Valedictorian and magna cum laude.
