Kapuso heads south for Iligan City's Diyandi Festival

MANILA, Philippines - After staging a series of successful events during the celebration of various festivals in Mindanao (Davao City’s Kadayawan Festival, Cagayan de Oro City’s Kagay-an Festival, and General Santos City’s Tuna Festival), GMA Network is heading south once again, this time to Iligan City’s Diyandi Festival.

Kicking-off the two-day fest, which begins tomorrow at 2 p.m., is the Serbisyong Totoo Docu-Fest from GMA News and Public Affairs. Spearheaded by reporter Cesar Apolinario (who is also the co-host of GMA News TV’s I Juander), the docu-fest will showcase some of GMA News and Public Affairs’ topnotch documentaries at the mini-theater of MSU-Iligan institute of Technology.  

At 7 p.m., Iliganons are in for a treat as Sam Pinto performs her production number at the Miss Iligan 2011 happening at the MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology Gym. Victor Aliwalas will serve as host of the event.

Then on Wednesday, 7 a.m., Victor will participate in the Kapuso Diyandi Festival Float Parade to escort the winners of Ms. Iligan 2011 in the float especially designed for the Kapuso Network. The parade is set to tour along the main streets of Iligan City.

An impressive roster of stars which includes two of Protégé’s mentors Rachel Ann Go and Jay-R, together with TJ Trinidad and Ynna Asistio of the new GMA Films horror-suspense movie The Road, and Bubble Gang and Showbiz Centralís Rufa Mae Quinto is all set to the Kapuso Night happening at the MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology Gym at 6 in the evening. The event will be hosted by Bubble Gang’s Moymoy Palaboy and GMA Cebu’s Anna Maris Igpit. 

The highlights of the festival can be seen via the TV Special airing on all eight regional stations on Oct. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
