Life at 5Mbps promo winners

MANILA, Philippines - SKYbroadband recently concluded its Life at 5Mbps online promo and winners were announced last month.

In line with the industry changing 5Mbps Internet connection at P999 with 15GB usage allowance, the online video contest was open to all Philippine residents who are 18 and above. Inspired by the TVC series Life at 5Mbps that showed how fast life at 5Mbps speed can be, those who were interested could create a 15-seconder video on their take on speed upload to cge.tv and win cash prizes.

Video entries were screened for two awards. The People’s choice winner was determined based on the most number of “cges” or likes a video entry gets during the voting period. The SKYbroadband winner, on the other hand, was selected by the esteemed SKYbroadband team. The judges evaluated all entries based on the message (45 percent), creative execution (45 percent) and quality of video (10 percent).

After thorough evaluation of more than 150 entries, which accumulated an astounding 17,000 “cges” or likes in total, SKYbroadband was able to announce the contest winners at SKYbroadband office at Tektite last Aug. 26. Taking home the SKYbroadband choice award and the P50,000 cash prize was Kennivy Alcarmen with his Magical Tree. While Noel Malonzo took home the People’s choice award and P25,000 with his video Life at 5Mbps. Voters of the different video entries were also given the chance to win a prize from SKYbroadband; drawn via electronic raffle, SKYbroadband chose Michael Macabenta as special prize winner. He took home P10,000. The contest was a success and taking the Internet community by storm with SKYbroadband’s 5Mbps Internet connection. The first in the country to offer 5Mbps with 15GB usage allowance for P999, SKYbroadband is making slow Internet connection a thing of the past, leaving behind competitors who only offer 1.5Mbps at the same value; and for P100 per 1 GB usage, Internet users can continue enjoying fast Internet connection once their 15GB monthly usage allowance runs out.
