MANILA, Philippines - The first Miss World-Philippines will be chosen on Sunday night, Sept. 18, at the grand finals to be held at the PICC Plenary Hall, telecast live by GMA Channel 7.
Who will wear the coveted crown, shown in photo below by Cory Quirino, head of CQ Global Quest Inc. (CQGQ), the exclusive license-holder of Miss World.
Funfare’s “beauty experts” Felix Manuel, Gery Yumping, Joey Cezeare and Francis Calubaquib have picked “the12 strong bets” from among the 25 aspirants. Here they are (in chronological order):
• Candidate No.1 — Samantha Nerville Purvor, 24, 5’6” tall, 34-26-35, from Quezon City.
• Candidate No. 9 — Martha Chloe Mcculley, 24, 5’7 ¼”, 32-24-34, from Parañaque City.
• Candidate No. 12 — Elaine Kay Moll, 19, 5’9 ¾”, 32-26.5-36, from Naga City.
• Candidate No, 13 — Gwendolyn Ruais, 21, 5’11”, 36.5-27-37, from Muntinlupa City.
• Candidate No. 14 — Joey Albert Short, 5’9 ¾”, 31-26-36.5, from Zamboanga City.

Reigning Miss World Alexandria Mills of USA (top) will crown the winner who will win receive P1M cash, an SMDC condo unit and the chance to represent the Philippines in the 61st Miss World Pageant to be held in London this November.
