Campus bullying in Failon Ngayon

MANILA, Philippines - The problem of students bullying their schoolmates is prevalent in the Philippines. Ted Failon (photo) takes an in-depth look at campus bullying and finds out the impact of verbal and physical abuse that it can do to a kid being bullied in another eye-opening episode of ABS-CBN’s Failon Ngayon.

There are many reasons why children are bullied. It could be because of their economic status in life, their physical appearances, or even disabilities. Take the case of 20-year-old Peter Bea who was diagnosed with meningitis in 2005. He had to stop schooling and half of his face got paralyzed.

When Peter returned to school, it was not easy. Oftentimes, he was teased and ridiculed by his schoolmates. Worse, he was physically abused by some bullies. If Peter is bullied at school, “Alex,” on the other hand, admits that bullying schoolmates is one of his hobbies.

What type of children are usually victims of bullying? How should schools handle and address the problem?

Be part of the solution and action today at 4:45 p.m. after ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Special Report.
