Guess what the Tulfos eat for breakfast
Like Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, the Tulfo brothers Ramon, Ben, Raffy and Erwin eat death threats for breakfast oops! and even for lunch and dinner, and for snacks.
It’s understandable because as we all know the brothers are famous for being crime-busters, never afraid even when they are stepping on sensitive toes in their effort to hunt criminals. They cannot and they don’t sleep until a crime or problem brought to their attention is solved.
Ramon is noted for his Isumbong Mo Kay Tulfo show while Ben hosts Bitag, Erwin has Tutok Tulfo and Raffy has Most Wanted. The fearless (as in walang kinatatakutan) brothers spare nobody; they have no qualms about verbally lambasting even government officials and public servants (their pet peeves: kotong cops), using colorful language that could make the squeamish recoil.
Put them together and what do you get? Tulfo Power times three — Ben, Raffy and Erwin hosting together the new show T3: Kapatid, Sagot Kita! which premieres on TV5 on Monday, Sept. 5 (airing through Friday at 5:30 to 6 p.m.).
Without Big Brother Ramon?
“Ramon will be like Charlie on Charlie’s Angels,” said Luchi Cruz-Valdes, NEWS5 head. “He will appear as special guest every now and then,” adding, “we’re very pleased to welcome T3 aboard line-up of service-driven programs. This cements our vision to serve the public in every way we can. May bago nang sumbungan ang mamamayan.”
Erwin is in-charge of the Ambush segment which focuses on corrupt and negligent officials. Ben’s is Modus which will provide the public with tips and information on how to combat crimes. And in the Resbak portion, Raffy will defend abused women and children.
Erwin has a warning: “This show is not for the weak-hearted. It’s very stressful to prepare. In fact, some of our staffers have quit dahil hindi nila kinaya ang demands. Luckily, 90 percent of the staff are experienced, having come from shows on other networks, so they have stayed on. Sanay na sila when it comes to surveillance and crime-solving.”
The brothers will use strong words but not the curses that they fill the airlanes with on their radio programs.
“Bawal magmura,” said Raffy half-jokingly. “Actually, hindi naman kailangan magmura para masabing matapang, thanks to Ma’am Luchi Cruz-Valdes.”
Said Luchi, “Kasi na-suspend ko na ang mga ‘yan, eh.
In front of Ma’am Luchi, the brothers are as meek as lambs, just as they are in front of their mom who has the final say on sibling conflicts.
“Siya ang Supreme Court ng mga Tulfos,” said Luchi. “What their mom says is final and irrevocable.”
Describing the brothers as “intense,” Luchi added that “when it comes to public service, they really mean business, I promise you. I am overwhelmed by their dedication to crime-solving. Walang inaatrasan.”
Now, who among the Tulfo brothers gets the most number of death threats?
“Too many to count,” said Raffy. “I think pare-pareho kami.”
And who has the most number of bodyguards?
Hmmmm, confidential. The bodyguards hover around incognito.
Besides, the brothers are properly “protected,” armed with more than just martial-arts knowledge.
In their kind of job, they cannot just take chances.
