MANILA, Philippines - Something new, something fresh and something very young has arrived!
Absolute Play is an upcoming new breed of artists, who at a very young age have written and arranged their own original songs. The group’s lead vocalist and pianist is Murielle, 11, while Alto, 13, is the song writer and guitarist. Mato, 16, is the drummer.
The young group’s objective is to help street children through their music in Kids Helping Kids campaign. They have tied up with Little Hands Foundation, a group that focuses on education and values teaching. They conduct feeding programs and Christian studies, encouraging children to attend school. Proceeds from concerts and album sales will also start a scholarship program.
Absolute Play’s music is an appreciation of raw alternative popular music style that features a combination of power drums and raw guitar. Some songs will use piano, acoustic guitar, bass and beat box for acoustic set-up. Young audiences prefer this musical style. Absolute Play started in the summer of 2010. With the music lessons they took and their inherent musical talent, they were able to compose their music.
AP has just released its first single entitled Beautiful Star under the indie label 12 Stone Records, (the same label that released Kitchie Nadal, Barbie Almalbis and Rocksteddy albums)
The song reflects their fondness for the beauty of the constellation and they are now getting ready to shoot their first ever music video. The single is currently aired on Jam 88.3 and Magic 89.9, and will soon be in other radio stations nationwide. Their unofficial music video may be seen on You Tube under Beautiful Star by Absolute Play.
The group will perform on Sept. 8 at the Miriam College and Sept. 17, the Assumption Antipolo.
