MANILA, Philippines - Yes, food and movies go together well. Actually, most viewers find it interesting to watch films with a culinary touch. Somehow, it makes them think how good it must be to blend delectable recipes and great stories together. That is why, most of the time, films like these are such a hit. It serves as entertainment and as an appetizer, too. So ready that appetite because the following films are sure specialties:

No Reservations. Kate is a super serious master chef who lives her life just as how she runs the kitchen. Everything is in order until Nicholas came in the kitchen scene working with her. Now, something is cooking up in the kitchen and it’s definitely more than just food. 

Chocolat. A woman, together with her daughter, moves in to a village and opens a chocolate shop. Somehow, her chocolate mysteriously changes the lives of the villagers — including hers. What could be in her chocolate? Will you dare take a bite?

Ratatouille. A rat that has the talent and passion for cooking helps a cleaner-turned-chef to cook delicious dishes for a famous restaurant. However, their partnership turns sour when pride comes along and their secret is revealed. Will they ever help each other again in the kitchen?

Julie and Julia. This film follows the story of two women who have the same passion for cooking. Julia is a famous chef while Julie is someone who just enjoys cooking and vows to cook 524 recipes of Julia in 365 days. No wonder this movie is both inspiring and appetizing.    

Like Water for Chocolate. Tita and Pedro are madly in love with each other but they cannot marry due to tradition. Tita is bound to take care of her mother. Pedro agrees to marry Tita’s sister in order to be with Tita. Heartbroken and disappointed, Tita pours it all into her cooking.  

Woman on Top. Sexy and beautiful Isabella is a master chef and a cooking show host who has to deal with her motion sickness. This problem has affected her lifestyle even her relationship with her husband. Will she ever find a solution?

Babette’s Feast. A woman settles in to a conservative village and works for two sisters who are spinsters. When the woman wins the lottery, she cooks an elegant French dinner for the village. The villagers have issues about joining the feast. Can they resist Babette’s cooking or will they give in and partake in the feast? 

Tampopo. This is a Japanese film about two truck drivers who help out a widowed woman to run her noodle shop. Along side, other stories of people, all in relation to food, are also featured. It’s just amazing to realize that food can affect people so much after all.    

Supersize Me. What would happen to a guy who only eats food at a famous hamburger fast food restaurant for 30 days? The documentary film shows viewers the effects of dining at the said fast food restaurant everyday for a month. Viewers will be surprised at what they’ll find.

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Chocolate, candies, other sweet treats and amazing secrets, these are what one will find in Charlie’s chocolate factory. Five kids are given the privilege to have a tour in the factory. Unknown to them, the last one to finish the tour without being punished will receive a tempting offer from Charlie.
