MANILA, Philippines - Adventure seekers and running enthusiasts recently gathered for an adventure-filled weekend at the Rexona Adventure 2011. The Rexona Run and the Rexona Adventure Hub gave participants the chance to enjoy a different level of fun and adventure and win prizes via a race and challenges.
Presented by Rexona Men Adventure and held at the SM Mall of Asia grounds, runners got the chance to win one of three adventure trips to the Great Wall of China at the Rexona Run, while those who took part at the Rexona Adventure Hub got the chance to win an adventure package to Mt. Province, Bohol or Cagayan de Oro.
Thousands of runners were raring to test their endurance and speed at the Rexona Run, which was the fourth leg in the RunRio Series. Aside from cash prizes, medals and bragging rights, all finishers in the 21K, 10K, 5K and 3K race divisions qualified for the raffle to win one of three adventure trips to the Great Wall of China.
Aside from that, the top finisher in the 21K category took home P10,000 worth of prizes, while second and third place finishers got P7,000 and P5,000 worth of prizes, respectively. In the 10K division, the top three finishers went home with P7,000, P5,000 and P3,000 worth of prizes, respectively while in the 5K leg, cash prizes amounting to P5,000, P4,000 and P3,000 were given to the first, second and third place finishers, respectively. The top three finishers in the 3K leg brought home P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000 plus a gift pack.
Those who sought for more daring adventures headed over to the Rexona Adventure Hub, where they enjoyed tackling the many different adventures on offer. Participants got their adrenaline pumping by taking on some of the highlights of the event such as the zorb maze, free fall, wall climbing, zip line and reverse bungee.
Aside from enjoying the many challenges that were offered, participants also got the chance to win an awesome adventure package for four in Mt. Province, Bohol or Cagayan de Oro. Mountaineers and spelunkers can delight in scaling Mt. Pulag, visiting the Sumaguing Cave or journeying to see the Bomod-ok Falls, as well as the Banga-an and Banaue Rice Terraces.
In the Visayas, one destination that lures adventurers is Bohol, with its numerous attractions delivering an awesome experience. Visit the Kamira Caves in Danao or the Danao Adventure Park and go river trekking and river tubing. Also in Danao, other activities that are worth trying are root climbing, rappelling and kayaking. For the more daring, there’s Cagayan de Oro, where popular activities include canyoneering, rappelling and doing the Noslek Canopy Walk.
