Health care for senior citizens

MANILA, Philippines - Home Health Care (HHC) managing director Dr. Jean Guno recently guested on DZIQ 990 AM program anchored by Jojo Alejar, Brod Pete and Teddy Pereña.  

Dr. Guno discussed options for access to health care of seniors and persons with disabilities in the initial broadcast of the Ka2Waan time block (Saturdays, 1 to 5 p.m.) of Jojo A and Brod Pete.

One of the little known facts revealed by Dr. Guno to the three hosts during the interview was that we should speak to seniors with ear problems in a low soft voice instead of in a loud manner so they can hear us well.

HHC provides hospice care in patient’s own home and also has assisted living facilities in Quezon City and BF Homes Int’l., Las Pinas.  Health care professionals, families and advocates can also learn to harness community-based health and rehabilitation programs for senior citizens in response to RA 9994 (An Act granting additional benefits and privileges to senior citizens) by attending the Taking Care of Lolo and Lola Congress today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Phil Pedia Society Bldg, 52 Kalayaan Ave., Quezon City.  Dr. Guno also announced that listeners of the weekly show will get free entrance in the event.
