Lady Gaga gets 9x Platinum award from MCA Music

MANILA, Philippines - Lady Gaga performed at an exclusive showcase for more than 2,000 fans in Singapore last July 7. Her nine-song repertoire included numbers from her latest album, Born This Way, along with some of her greatest hits.

Born This Way has so far sold over 1.3 million in CD and digital album sales in South East Asia. In the Philippines alone, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way special edition album is now a certified gold record with more than 11,000 units sold for both CD and digital sales in just a span of two months after it was released.

Lady Gaga has definitely taken her music to the edge of glory with the monster album, which boasts off a collection of high-concept pop anthems, including her hit singles Born This Way, Judas and The Edge of Glory that will make you gaga over Gaga.

MCA Music president, Ricky Ilacad, was there during Lady Gaga’s show and took the opportunity to personally hand over the 9x Platinum award from the Philippines, proving the massive success of her top-selling The Fame and The Fame Monster albums. The uniquely designed plaque was fashioned by Grassroots Philippines, one of the country’s top designers and makers of modern, custom-made home décors and handicrafts.
