Run for Literacy set tomorrow

MANILA, Philippines - Run For Literacy is finally set tomorrow, July 9, at the Rajah Sulayman, Roxas Blvd., Manila. Run For Literacy is an open fun run spearheaded by Millicent Foundation, Inc. to help raise funds for its scholars. Participants are also encouraged to bring used or new textbooks as donation, which will be distributed to daycare centers around Manila.

Run For Literacy will cover distances of 3/5/10 kilometers. Onsite registration (for 5k and 10k slots only) will be available for those who wish to register at the venue. Runners are likewise enjoined to gather at the venue by 5 a.m. Gun start is at exactly 5:30 a.m.

First two finishers for each event category will be given scholarship for the two-year course Associate in Hotel and Restaurant Management, the two-year Associate in Business Administration and one-year PC Operation/Computer Tech at the ICCT Colleges. Gift certificates from Fucoidan Slimming, Rejuvenation and Wellness Center will be given to runners-up (third, fourth and fifth placers for each category).

To date, a number of runners have signed up and Run For Literacy is expected to gather guests, running enthusiasts, health buffs, students, educators, and the whole family to a fun run which will promote the importance of literacy while keeping fit. Kapuso stars such as Mike Tan, Dex Quindoza, Marvin Kiefer, Gino dela Pena among many others who are willing to promote literacy and an active lifestyle.
