MANILA, Philippines - As the official media partner of Pinilakang Tabing: Handog sa Pelikulang Pilipino, TV5 will provide live TV coverage and online livestreaming of the grand musical salute to 92 years of Philippine cinema, a project of the Movie Workers Welfare Fund (Mowelfund) together with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
Written by Floy Quintos and directed by Chris Millado, the gala presentation will be held at the CCP’s Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo tomorrow, June 22 at 8 p.m. and will gather the industry’s most respected stars, producers, filmmakers and movie stakeholders who are instrumental to the richness and brilliance of Philippine cinema throughout the decades.
Everyone can witness the event through the live news coverage airing simultaneously on TV5 and AksyonTV channel 41, which will also be streamed live on www.interaksyon.com and www.tv5.com.ph.

Pinilakang Tabing features a musical journey starting from the film version of the popular sarswela Dalagang Bukid to the post-war films up to the big studios of the ‘50s. The theme of popular love teams will be presented as well as the Cebuano cinema scene. There will also be a presentation about the decade of socially relevant films and the emergence of independent films.
