Mel & Joey reveals the paternal side of our Filipino heroes

-

MANILA, Philippines - Father’s Day is celebrated every third Sunday of June all over the world and tonight, GMA 7’s Mel &Joey directed by Louie Ignacio features Filipino heroes as fathers.

Hosts Mel Tiangco and Joey de Leon reveal how Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Emilio Aguinaldo and Manuel Quezon treated their offsprings. Were they loving, disciplinarian, doting or understanding? Stay tuned to find out.

You will be touched by the respective stories of two fathers. Godofredo Mampusti chose to be separated from his family to work abroad for 20 years to give his children education and a good life. Antonio Pasia, on the other hand, had to let go the chance of a lucrative job overseas in lieu of taking care of his special child.

Mel & Joey visits the family of the late Gen. Angelo Reyes for an interaction with his children after the tragic death of the former AFP chief who was once one of the most powerful men of the country. Have they moved on? Will they give what they surmise is the reason why the general took his own life?

Marvin Agustin runs a number of restaurants with some partners and he is, likewise, an active member of the Philippine Archery Team. But he regards fatherhood as the most important happening in his life.

“No matter how busy I am, I always find special time to spend with my twins Santiago and Sebastian,” he says. Although born out of wedlock, the twins are fortunate to have a doting mother and a loving father as well.

Mel will put Joey on the hot seat. Joey’s children will divulge the man behind the comic mask.
