2011 Miss Makati will be known on May 28

MANILA, Philippines- Twenty-four beauties from 33barangays are competing for the 2011 Miss Makati crown at grand finals to be held on May 28 at the Makati Coliseum. After 21 years, the search was expanded to cover all of the city’s barangays.

Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Jun Jun” Binay said that the move aims to recognize the role of stakeholders other than city residents in the city’s growth while promoting women empowerment at the same time. Winners will get gift certificates from sponsors and cash prizes of P150,000 (for Miss Makati), P75,000 for the first runner-up and P50,000 for the second runner-up. Miss Makati will also win a trip to Boracay.
