MANILA, Philippines - Calling all teens aged 13 to 17 who love to sing and want to take their musical talents to a different level.
Due to insistent public demand, a second audition for MusiKabataan — the Music Museum’s musical talent search for teens — will be held on May 30, 1 p.m. at the Music School of Ryan Cayabyab. It is located at the Basement Level, Park Ave. section of Robinsons Galleria in Pasig City.
The auditions will identify the most musically talented teenagers who will join an earlier batch of teeners who auditioned last May 8. Audition qualifiers will then prepare for a special presentation in early June to a panel of judges led by Music Museum Group president Precy Florentino. This year’s 10 MusiKabataan scholars will be chosen and announced at the presentation.
The 2011-2012 MusiKabataan scholars will be given the rare opportunity of being personally trained by maestro Ryan Cayabyab in a music scholarship program on voice, stage presence and projection under the auspices of the Music Museum.
The scholarship program is a 10-month, three-level course of full-scale training from June 2011 to March 2012. The music scholars will hold music and performance classes and have mini recitals at each level, and those that will survive all three levels will perform in the grand recital which will be attended by media and big names in the music industry. MMGI will provide the tuition and other expenses of the chosen scholars.
The Music Museum Group’s collaboration with The Music School of Ryan Cayabyab began in 2008 during Music Museum’s 20th anniversary celebration. Florentino said, “We wanted to give back to the music and entertainment industry by supporting Mr. C’s passion for discovering and nurturing young Filipino talents who will continue to enrich Filipino music in the days to come. The music scholarships express Music Museum’s commitment to make a lasting contribution to the ongoing development of the music industry through the development of musically talented youth.”
Application forms are available at TMsrc, Teatrino at the Promenade, Greenhills and at Music Museum, Theater Mall, Greenhills.
