Segunda Mana opens branch at Victory Mall

MANILA, Philippines - Most Reverend Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez Jr., Bishop of Caloocan welcomed Segunda Mana in his Diocese of Caloocan.

Last month, the Monday right after Easter Sunday, Bishop Iñiguez graced and led the blessing of the latest charity store of Caritas Manila’s donations-in-kind program Segunda Mana.

Through the kindness of the owners and management of Victory Central Mall located at Rizal Avenue, Monumento, Caloocan City, Caritas Manila was granted a free stall to open a Segunda Mana Charity Store at the fifth floor of Victory Central Mall right in front of the major NBI Clearance Center on the same floor.

It will be the fourth branch and the third mall-based store for Segunda Mana. The first Segunda Mana mall-based store opened last year at Makati Cinema Square while the second mall-based store is at Harrison Plaza. The first and main branch is located at Pandacan at the headquarters of Caritas Manila.

Shoppers at Victory Central Mall and commuters passing through VCM can now enjoy shopping for Segunda Mana items donated by donors of Caritas Manila.

Segunda Mana encourages charity work through easier means by donating items that they no longer need, have too much of or just simply want to donate. There are new, old and used items that still have value that can be bought at an affordable price at the Segunda Mana store. The program helps generate funds for the pro-poor programs of Caritas Manila like scholarships with leadership and moral foundation for very poor but deserving children; livelihood empowerment for urban poor families; and funding for crisis and disaster situations.

At Segunda Mana, donors and buyers help the poor, the needy and the sick by giving as well as buying. It also helps the environment through the creative way of recycling, reusing and giving life and use items that others no longer need.

“We thank the owners and management of Victory Central Mall. It is through the kindness and generosity of such people that we are able to help more through Segunda Mana. We also thank Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez for welcoming and blessing Segunda Mana in his Diocese. We hope and pray that more people help in the growth of Segunda Mana. We intend to put up more stores in the future,” says Fr. Anton Pascual, Caritas Manila executive director.
