The next big thing in YES!

MANILA, Philippines - As today’s stars are, slowly but surely, carving a name for themselves, both the audience and the network bigwigs are looking over their shoulders asking, “Who is the next big thing?” This month, YES! magazine talks to top executives of ABS-CBN and GMA 7 to compile the list of stars to watch out for in the respective networks.

ABS-CBN executives Cory Vidanes, Linggit Tan, Deo Endrinal, Malou Santos and Johnny Manahan; and GMA 7 executives Wilma Galvante, Lilybeth Rasonable, Ida Henares and Annette Gozon-Abrogar not only share their insights with YES! on what it takes to make a star, but also look at their respective roster of stars to answer the question, “Who are the next big stars?”

The result is a YES! list made of newcomers and existing stars alike. “They cannot stay on the same level, knowing that audiences really look for new faces,” Vidanes says of including existing stars in the list, “The search for new stars doesn’t take away from the bigness of the stars already here. And that doesn’t take away from us pushing them further as we create more stars.”
