MANILA, Philippines - After its recent stint in SM Sucat Parañaque, Veterans Bank’s World War II Traveling Exhibit made its next stop at SM Lipa City Event Center in Batangas. The widely-traveled War of Our Fathers exhibit, co-sponsored by the Veterans Federation of the Philippines, is dedicated to the World War II veterans. It opened to the public, free-of-charge on March 15 and is timed with the 66th anniversary of the Liberation of Lipa on March 29. Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, through her representative Lenny de Sagun, expressed support for the project.
The exhibit, co-presented by the Provincial Government of Batangas and the City of Lipa, features numerous vintage World War II photographs, maps and memorabilia that pay tribute the bravery and integrity of Filipino World War II heroes, men and women, who fought and died for the country’s freedom. It aims to share to the public, especially the youth the unknown stories of World War II heroes so that today’s generation may have a better grasp of our nation’s history.
